          Hey guys,
Disclaimer: In this thread, I'll only be commenting on the Python because it's the Caldari ship I know the best, and I have absolutely no idea what fitting is like on an Incubus or any other armor dropships. I'm not proposing we screw other dropships by only buffing Pythons, but I am unaware of what the solution would be for them. This idea would have to be deployed in tandem with a different fix for other dropships, as to preserve balance. As such, I'll be sticking to what I know. That said, let's get into it.
The setup: I hear a lot of complaints about vehicle powergrid, but honestly I've never had an issue with it in a Python. It's all give and take. My current fit is like so:
  High Slots:
 - Azeotropic Ward Shield Extender
 - Azeotropic Ward Shield Extender
 - Ward Shield Amplifier
 - Clarity Ward Shield Booster
 Low Slots:
 - Light Payload II (don't recall the exact name)
 - Light Payload II
 Turrets:
 - Militia MT-1 Missile Launcher
 - Militia MT-1 Missile Launcher
 - XT-1 Accelerated Missile Launcher

This fit has 2571 shield, 23.5% resist (therefore ~3360 effective shield), 770 armor, and packs a decent punch. However, if I switch the damage mods out for Local Power Diagnostic units, I open up a few options. This frees up enough powergrid to run a booster and 3 extenders, 2 boosters and 2 extenders, 4 extenders, etc (boosters and extenders all require 74 PG).
Adding a high slot: Now, if we add a high slot, we can run any of those fits mentioned above plus an extra shield amplifier. This means we could run a number of different fits:

 - 1 Booster, 3 Extenders, 1 Amplifier, 2 Power Diagnostic Units: 3464 shield, 23.5% resist, 4528 effective shield
 - 1 Booster, 2 Extenders, 2 Amplifiers, 2 Light Payload II: 2571 Shield, 35.25% resist, 3970 effective shield
 - 1 Booster, 2 Extenders, 1 Amplifier, 1 Active Fuel Injector, 2 Local Powergrid mods: 2571 shield, 23.5% resist, 3360 effective shield (haven't tested the PG numbers on this yet so it may not be possible, speed tanked)
 - 4 Extenders, 1 Amplifier, 2 Power Diagnostic Units: 4212 shield, 23.5% resist, 5506 effective shield (no booster, buffer tanked)
 - 3 Extenders, 2 Amplifiers, 2 Power Diagnostic Units: 3464 shield, 35.25% resist, 5349 effective shield (no booster, buffer tanked)

Those are just a few examples of things you could do. TBH, I haven't checked the CPU numbers yet to see if this would all fit, but I'm pretty sure it comes in under budget.
TL;DR Give the Python a 5th high slot and we won't have to buff their health. |
